Jimenez move 'agreed'

Raul Jimenez has 'agreed' to return to Wolves on a two-year deal with an option of a further 12 months.

The Mexico international, 35, first moved to Molineux in 2018 and spent five years there, scoring 57 goals in 166 appearances and becoming a cult hero in the process.

But Jimenez was let go in 2023 and Fulham ended up snapping up his signature and keeping the ex-Benfica man for three seasons. In that time, he netted 31 goals in 115 matches before the Whites decided to release him at the end of his contract this summer.

Now a free agent, Jimenez has undergone a medical in Mexico and is now expected to sign in as a Wolves player on a deal running until 2028, as they prepare for the new Championship season.

Palace Wharton price

Crystal Palace want 100million to sell midfielder Adam Wharton amid interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Wharton has attracted interest from around the top of the Premier League following an impressive two-and-a-half years at Palace, where he has established himself as one of the best midfielders in England.

And should Palace sell him this summer, the Eagles want a NINE figure fee, which would represent one of the biggest sales in the Premier League era.

Stoke appoint Porter

Stoke City have appointed Arsenal Under 21s head coach Max Porter to Mark Robins' coaching staff as an assistant manager.

Porter, 38, joined Arsenal in 2017 and worked his way up their academy structure before taking charge of the U21s for the start of the 2025/26 season.

Stoke sporting director Jonathan Walters said: "Max arrives from one of the most elite and successful environments in the country, and we're delighted to welcome him to Stoke City.

"He has built a reputation as one of the brightest young coaches in the game and has played an important role in the development of a number of exceptional young players during his time at Arsenal.

"What stood out to us was Max's drive, energy and ambition. He is constantly looking to improve, challenge and develop those around him, and we believe he will be a tremendous addition to our environment.

Real Alvarez bid rejected

Real Madrid have said that Atletico Madrid have rejected their 130million bid for Julian Alvarez.

The 26-year-old has four years left on his contract at Wanda Metropolitano and had been subject to talks from Barcelona. Real, however, released a statement on Tuesday outlining that they had bid for the ex-Manchester City man but it had not been successful, due in part to the player's release clause.

"Real Madrid CF announces that, following today's Board of Directors meeting, it has made an offer of 150 million euros to Club Atletico de Madrid for the federative rights of the player Julian Alvarez," the statement said.

"After studying and evaluating it, Atletico de Madrid has thanked the club for the offer, made within the framework of the good relations existing between both clubs, and has rejected it, referring to the player's release clause."

According to The Athletic, one of Nicolas Jackson or Liam Delap will also be sold with the former set for a chance under Xabi Alonso after spending last season on loan at Bayern Munich.

Chelsea's transfer move before Real Madrid agreement

Ibrahima Konate is set to be confirmed as a Real Madrid player, but things could have played out very differently.

Firstly, a new contract could have been agreed between him and Liverpool. He could have also stayed in the Premier League with The Athletic stating that Chelsea made a basic check on Konate's availability.

The Blues are in need of defensive reinforcements, particularly players with experience, which would have made Konate the perfect addition. However, he will instead be joining Xabi Alonso's former club.

Despite the significant funds needed for the deal, it has been claimed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe would be prepared to meet Anderson's wage demands which are expected to be 150,000.

Wharton impact from 20m transfer

To cope with the Europa League, Crystal Palace need depth and bringing in Hayden Hackney would give them exactly that.

However, it is difficult to not make the suggestion that he could be viewed as a potential replacement for Adam Wharton.

No major club are in active discussions for the 22-year-old, but things could change very quickly with Manchester United and Liverpool previously linked and in the market to bolster midfield.

Manchester City meanwhile, are firmly focused on Elliot Anderson.
