Liverpool completed the signing of defender Ronald Araujo from Barcelona on Monday. The centre-back has joined on a season-long loan with the Reds having the option to make the move permanent next summer.

Liverpool are also keen to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola this summer, but face competition from Arsenal who are also showing an interest in the French international.

Staying with Arsenal, reported transfer target Christian Kofane has spoken out about his future. The £85million striker's agent sparked speculation last year, talking about the Gunners' interest and now the player has had his say.

Manchester United, meanwhile, continue their search for a third midfielder, but have received a double blow over Aurelien Tchouameni and Jhon Lucumi. While Tchouameni appears to be staying with Real Madrid, Lucumi is closing in on a transfer to Juventus.

In the last couple of minutes, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Ferran Torres will not return to Barcelona training as he closes in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

If reports are to be believed, the deal means Man City will not receive any windfall for the forward.

Meanwhile, Matteo Ruggeri has verbally agreed to join Aston Villa, he says.

The deal in place is worth €25million (£21m) plus €1.5million in add-ons with personal terms already agreed.

DONE DEAL: Gus Hamer to Coventry

Gus Hamer has completed his return to Coventry City.

The midfielder marks his comeback to the Premier League following relegation with Sheffield United.

But the 29-year-old is back with the Sky Blues with the fan favourite in the building for a memorable and historic Premier League campaign.

He said;

“I’m buzzing, it’s the move I wanted to make.

“To go to the Premier League with Coventry was something I always dreamt of so when the Club came back in for me, it was very special so I’m very happy.

“The love I got from the fans was amazing so the only thing I can give back to them is goals, assists and a good performance so that’s what I will try to do.

"Of course, you can’t score or give an assist every game but what I can do is give 100 per cent for the badge, for the Club and for the fans.”

The former Arsenal man has been in the headlines this summer for his World Cup antics, with his red card being suspended following the intervention from President Donald Trump.

L'Equipe are reporting that negotiations over a €60m (£51m) move have reportedly begun.

Several English clubs, Newcastle among them, have reportedly lodged an interest and closely monitoring the striker but Spurs have made their move.

Inter set to step up Curtis Jones race

Italian outlet Gianluca Di Marzio have claimed that Inter Milan will move for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones.

It comes after the Serie A giants struck a deal with fellow top-flight side Lazio for Davide Frattesi.

The international is set to move to Rome on loan with a conditional obligation to buy, as well as a sell-on percentage for Inter.

Liverpool have twice rejected bids from the Italian giants for the academy graduate but the heat could increase in that pursuit.

Mount to miss Leeds

More injury woes for Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount as BBC Sport claim he will miss their pre-season clash with Leeds.

The former Chelsea man was brought off as a precaution after a blow to the foot against PSG.

However, it has been claimed that he hasn't trained as a result of the problem and is unlikely to feature against Daniel Farke's side.

However severe, it is another injury issue for Mount in a Red Devils career that has been plagued by problems and rotten luck.

Ezri Konsa to miss Super Cup amid Arsenal links

Arsenal transfer target Ezri Konsa will miss Aston Villa's Super Cup final against PSG, Unai Emery has confirmed.

The Spaniard failed to be drawn on speculation but conceded the absence was down to England's run at the World Cup.

He said:

“They are not here because they finished the season on July 19 and I gave them four weeks to rest and it is completely necessary.

“Of course, if they were here, maybe we will have many more chances, but at the same time, I think PSG will be in same situation as us.

“We will prepare the game with players, even some young players, like we started with four weeks ago. Of course they are favourites.”

Luis Enrique on Liverpool and Arsenal target

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique failed to be drawn on Bradley Barcola's future amid Liverpool and Arsenal interest.

Barcola has been named in the squad for Wednesday's Super Cup final against Aston Villa.

But the 23-year-old's involvement comes with the backdrop of uncertainty surrounding his future after being outlined as a number one target for Andoni Iraola's Reds.

Barcola reportedly missed preparations for the final in Austria through illness. But Enrique has spoken out on the players' involvement on Wednesday, stopping short at the future of the Frenchman.

He said:

"We're going to try to analyse everything that's important for the team, and you'll see if he can play on Wednesday. I don't know and I don't want to talk individually about a player. It's dangerous when you say something positive or negative about a player."

Lewis-Skelly focused on Arsenal future despite exit links

The Athletic has reported that Myles Lewis-Skelly wants to stay at Arsenal amid reports of an exit.

It has been said that he is fully focused on fighting for his place in Mikel Arteta's side.

Lewis-Skelly is reportedly happy and not exploring a move away from the Premier League champions after Bruno Guimaraes' arrival.

The caveat in the report is that departures are expected with the transfer window closing in the next couple of weeks. Arsenal, it has been said, may have to be flexible in their plans.

DONE DEAL: Anthony Patterson to Wrexham

Anthony Patterson has signed for Wrexham from Sunderland.

The shot-stopper joins the Red Dragons for an undisclosed fee, which has been reported as a potential club record for the Championship side.

If the add-ons are met, it could see Patterson's move eclipse Nathan Broadhead's £10million record-transfer to North Wales last summer.

The move brings an end to the 26-year-old's long 16-year association with the Black Cats, where he came through their academy.

Patterson said:

“Wrexham really suits me in terms of what I want to do in my career, so it feels like a perfect fit.

“I've seen the journey that the Club's been on and it's really exciting to now be part of it. I want to play in the Premier League with Wrexham, and I think everything is in place and ready for the Club to do that.

“I’m really looking forward to playing in front of our fans, pushing up the league, and getting this Football Club to where it deserves to be.”

The highly-rated Chelsea defender makes the move to Nottinghamshire on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old is viewed as a versatile option at wing-back and in the heart of the defence.

Director of Football Richard Montague lavished praise on the stopper, reuniting with him after time together at Swansea.

He said:

“Ishe is a talented young player who is capable of contributing in both attacking and defensive phases.

“He’s athletic and, standing at 6ft 1”, brings a strong physical presence – and his committed and determined nature is backed up by the fact he has captained Chelsea’s Under 21s on a number of occasions.

“We know we can provide Ishe with a great opportunity to develop this season and we’re looking forward to working with him.”

United want Lewis Hall

Manchester United see Lewis Hall as the ideal full-back target, according to Samuel Luckhurst.

The Red Devils are among the Premier League clubs to be offered Arsenal man Myles Lewis-Skelly, as the London Colney academy graduate faces an uncertain future.

With Bruno Guimaraes' arrival in North London, The Englishman's future is said to be unclear.

However, despite the opportunity to sign him, United have reportedly made Hall their priority signing in that department, with the Newcastle star keen on a move.

United backed to sign Cristian Romero

Paul Scholes believes Manchester United should try to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero, whom he described as an 'absolute clown.'

The Argentine, appointed captain only last year after signing a four‑year deal, is expected to leave Spurs this summer, with Atletico Madrid currently in talks over his transfer.

Scholes said on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast:

This is one you might laugh at. [United should sign] Cristian Romero from Tottenham. I know it might sound stupid, but I just think... I like him. I think he's a nutcase.

He's a very good defender that does some stupid things. He is an absolute clown. But I think if someone could get hold of him, like Michael Carrick, who is very calm and relaxed, he might be able to [help him].

He seems like a bit of a cult hero defender, really. I know it might sound strange, but I think the fans at Old Trafford would like him.

De Zerbi outlines Tottenham transfer stance

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has stressed that the club are yet to finish their transfer business for the summer.

In an interview with the Men in Blazers Network, De Zerbi said:

In the transfer market, we have not finished yet (with) the players who will arrive.

We are looking forward to start another season with, I don’t know (different) ambitions, but with different results.

He added:

The club has been great because they closed (deals for) very, very important players. I think we have not finished yet.

Okay, we spent money, but the other clubs made the same or more in the past. To compete in the Premier League, you need first (the) level of the players.

The ambition of the owner of the club, of the board, of the people who decide behind me are very important and very high, so we have to find the condition to build a strong team, a stronger team than the last seasons, to compete again for the top of the table.

Spurs 'set for talks' over Spence transfer

Inter Milan have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Djed Spence.

According to Fabrizio Romano, both clubs are now set to open talks over a deal for the England international, who is believed to be keen on a switch to the Serie A giants.
