A MAJOR PAYNE (7.41, nap) can prove a thorn in the side for Billy Loughnanes jockeys title rivals in the RIP Susan Procter Memorial Handicap over 1m2f at Windsor.

Loughnane could potentially have a field day this evening with strong fancies in all six races, but it is Michael Bells five-year-old who stands out the most.

It took 17 attempts for the gelding to score a first win, when beating nine rivals in a Nottingham handicap in June.

Third three days later carrying a 5lb penalty at Lingfield Park, he then produced a career-best over todays course and distance 31 days ago. Despite a 6lb rise, a third success looks on the cards.

At Lingfield Park, SOUTH WEST (7.58, nb) is heading in the right direction and looks geared up to score a follow-up victory in the Download The At The Races App Nursery over 5f.

The addition of blinkers has proved beneficial to Richard Hughes juvenile, who was a close-up third at Leicester at the beginning of last month, before leading all the way in a novice event at Catterick 29 days ago.

He extended his lead to four and a half lengths by the winning post, and with the third that day going on to win well since, the improving son of Supremacy can be expected to shrug off an 8lb rise.
