Beau Greaves became the first woman to win a PDC ranking title after beating three former world champions in a row. Greaves, 22, put together a monstrous run of form to claim Players Championship 11 in astonishing circumstances.
The ProTour competition proved to be a history defining moment for women's darts in Milton Keynes. Greaves faced seven different opponents and beat them all, firstly edging out Aden Kirk and Thomas Lovely 6-4.
She then overcame Jeffrey Sparidaans 6-2, before slightly getting the better of Czech star Karel Sedlacek. From then on, the pressure was cranked up to maximum temperature as she was pitted against 2018 World Champion Rob Cross.
Greaves defeated Electric in a dramatic final decider, before being pitted against two-time Ally Pally King, Gary Anderson, in the final four. While many would have tipped the Flying Dutchman to get past 'Beau and Arrow' it was the 22-year-old who emerged as victor in dominant fashion.
She smashed Anderson 7-1, one year after he beat her in a dramatic final leg decider at the Grand Slam of Darts. After her ruthless triumph, she found herself one leg away from history.

The 2023 World Champion and former World No. 1 Michael Smith stood in her path. In another final leg decider, it appeared Bully Boy was going to take the title, after hitting 142 from 162 to leave a double ten finish.
Greaves was left on 142, but instead of buckling under the pressure, she lashed in two treble 20s and nailed double 11 to win the decider and become the first female winner of a PDC ranking title.
Interestingly, to Smith, it appeared to feel inevitable. When she hit the first treble, Bully Boy could be seen rolling his eyes, almost like he knew Greaves was going to checkout the 142.
When the second treble followed, he turned to his table and began putting his darts away, despite Greaves still needing to find the double 11. When she found the all-important match dart, she cheered, put both hands over her face and began to weep happy tears.
In their first to eight legs clash, she averaged 96.49, hit two 180s and checked out 80% of her attempts at a double, including a magnificent 170 finish, not long after she secured her triumph over Anderson with the Big Fish.
Smith also showed his class by giving his younger opponent a huge and a pat on the back, while she tried to get to grips with her feelings of immense joy. After her victory was secured, an emotional Greaves said: "Ive had a great year, but I never thought Id win one of these. Never, ever.
She added: I cant believe it. I was up a fair few legs and I started to think about it. It caught up with me.
I dont know if I thought about being the first woman to do one. I cant believe I hit that. I cant believe I took out that.
I have had a great year but I would never have thought I would win one. I had a good run last week and I said to the lads I sit on the table with that I felt like I hadnt played well but I was getting results.
Today I felt like I played really well. I am so happy I cant even describe how I feel."
