With just days to go until the start of the UK leg of WWEs latest European tour, British wrestler Joe Hendry has spoken of how hes living his dream as part of the RAW roster. Edinburgh-born Hendry built up a cult following for his mix of in-ring agility and literal rock star persona - turning up at shows with a guitar to serenade the crowds and notching up a bona fide chart hit when his theme song I believe in Joe Hendry hit number 4 in the UK Top 40.
After years working the independent scene, he burst onto WWE screens with a surprise debut answering an open challenge from Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 after his original opponent, Kevin Owens, was injured and unable to compete. Even having settled into WWE life, he cant believe his luck, having literally fulfilled his childhood dream.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he explained: When I was probably about 15, I used to think of these ideas for storylines if I became a wrestler. And I remember thinking Yeah, me and Randy Orton will have a feud. To have that thought at 15 and then for it to actually happen is pretty insane.
Every so often, you have to take a moment to go: Wait, this is the show that I used to set my video cassette player to record way back in the day so I could watch after I came home from school. To be here now really is the manifestation of a dream, and its great to be reminded of that. Im super grateful.
Having caused such a huge stir during his surprise appearance - his commemorative Joe Hendry Wrestlemania shirt was launched immediately after the show and topped the merchandise bestseller list - it was only a matter of time before he joined one of WWEs biggest brands, with him now appearing on Monday Night Raw, which airs on Netflix in the UK.
WWE fans can now get tickets to the European Tour, including London's O2 Arena, Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown events.
Hell be joining other WWE superstars, including Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, Jimmy and Jey Uso, Chelsea Green, Gunther, and Jacob Fatu at venues across the UK this week. Limited tickets are still available for shows including Raw and Smackdown shows in London at The O2, with additional dates in Birmingham, Cardiff and Sheffield along the way.
Theres a mutual excitement when we do a European tour, because the fans and the energy they bring to the shows are absolutely unbelievable. So, as WWE superstars, were equally, if not even more, excited to come over and perform for those fans, says Hendry.
I got the chance to do some of the UK live events last year, wrestling The Miz. They were three of my favourite shows in my entire career, so Im just so unbelievably excited for this.
"Ive been doing this for 14 years now, and Ive spent the vast majority of my time in the UK. Its those UK fans supporting me that got me to where I am today. I love the opportunity to wrestle in front of them. Were going to get to do that on the UK tour, and if, one day, we have a WrestleMania in the UK, I think that would be absolutely unbelievable for both the fans and the wrestlers.
Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new Sky Stream TV bundles, including the 15 Essential TV bundle.

After the excitement of Clash in Italy, WWE is back in the UK this week with a host of events, including Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, both of which will be held in Londons O2 Arena.
