Two best friends from the UK jetted out to Milan in Italy, just for 15 hours to head to a luxury spa and said the day trip was "just like something from a movie"

In a savvy travel move, two friends shelled out just 27 each for a whirlwind 15-hour trip to Italy, indulging in a spa day and sipping Aperol spritz.

Chloe Greenwood, 31, a childrens entertainer from Liverpool, Merseyside, and her best mate Senna Gligui, also 31, splurged a total of 136.50 apiece on grub, drinks, public transport, and a luxurious day at the QC Termemilano spa in Milan.

The dynamic duo boasted that their Italian escapade was "less than a night out in Liverpool" and described it as the "most gorgeous, girly day out". Chloe gushed about the experience: "This was cheaper than going on a night out - and we had the most amazing time."

They spent less than a night out in Liverpool

She added: "You couldn't experience anything like it at home - lots of little things made the day out perfect." The pair basked in the lovely weather, lounging at the spa, feasting, and enjoying Aperol spritz. "All we packed was a bikini, our passports and a book each," Chloe revealed. O

n October 10, the adventurous pals jetted off from Liverpool John Lennon Airport at 4am, landing in Milan Malpensa Airport just an hour and a half later. They hopped on a shuttle bus to the city centre for a mere 4.16 each. "We took a bus, and had some breakfast," Chloe recounted. "It was quite cheap to eat - around 12 each - and proper continental."

They savoured croissants, delectable orange juice, and a cappuccino each. Senna, who works as a hairdresser, chimed in: "We were lucky the weather was nice - we sat outside on the most beautiful, cobbled streets. There was a church right by us, which we did visit."

Chloe and Senna made a savvy move by taking the tube to QC Termemilano, with a mere 1.67 each for the tap on-and-off journey. They indulged in the full spa experience, spending 49.98 each to explore every room, bask on the terrace, unwind in saunas, sip drinks, and even enjoy the unique "storm room" with its ceiling rain.

"We paid for a five-hour session," Chloe revealed, "But we spent two-and-a-half hours there - to be honest, thats all we needed."

The tranquillity rooms were a highlight, where they could read with the soothing sounds of birds in the background. Before jetting back, they treated themselves to a dinner costing 41.69 each, enjoying spaghetti, tagliatelle, pizza, Aperol spritz, and limoncello. For a whole day of eating snacks, meals and drinks - you could go out in Liverpool for the same price."

Remarkably, their flights to Milan were just 27 comparable to a taxi fare home after a night out. They caught the 8.30pm flight back and touched down in Manchester at 10pm. Return flights to Milan cost 27 each and the pair also spent 4.16 on a shuttle bus, 12 on breakfast, 1.67 on the tube, 49.98 on the spa and 41.69 dinner. In total, each spent 136.50.
