I went to the UKs only all inclusive resort and its like Center Parcs on steroids

The UK's only all inclusive resort has been in operation for more than 100 years and after a recent visit, one content creator described it as like a "cruise ship on land"

Visions of all-inclusive resorts may take you to a towering beach resort on the Costa Del Sol, or even chugging down pina coladas at a beach bar on a Greek Island. But now, the trend has made its way much closer to home.

Potters Resort sits nestled on the Norfolk coast between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft in the small village of Hopton-on-Sea, and while you may not be guaranteed the year-round sun of the Canary Islands, it gives an all-around more British take on the concept.

Taking his kids on a recent visit to the resort, frank social media reviewer Alex Dodman went to see what it was really about. He said: The best way I can describe this is like a mini Center Parcs by the sea on steroids, but without all the dry robe wearing cult like guests and the extra costs.

Potters describe as the UKs only fully inclusive family breaks with every need your family has, from little ones to great-grandparents, is taken care of, without spending a single penny on Resort.

Much like the resorts on the continent, everything is free when you set foot into the site meaning you can indulge as much or as little as you like.

For the majority of the year, Potters operates as an adults-only resort, with the World Indoor Bowls Championship even taking place there over the winter.

But during the school holidays, when Alex went for a four-night stay, it catered for all ages. Alex added: The activities on offer for the kids for the four days were so full, I needed to plan out where I could slope off for a nap and a cry for 10 minutes. But as you can rock up to any of them without booking in advance, we got stuck in.

On a search to get the most out of his money, and perhaps after being scared by the secret added costs after a recent trip to Center Parcs, he and his family began ticking off the activities.

From indoor climbing to an assault course to pottery making, he kept his kids busy, but despite all the options available, it was one strange activity he enjoyed the most - throwing a toilet plunger at a target.

Moving on to the food, Alex told his fans: Food and drink are all included and served every day in what can only be described as a cruise ship on land.

After sucking up hell on earth at the kids' discos, his four nights came to a close.

Looking back at his trip away to Norfolk, he summarised: To sum it up, pound for pound it beats places like Center Parcs every day for me, so big up Potters for giving good old-fashioned British holidays for over 100 years.
