A UK travel company has plunged into administration, with many trips cancelled.

After 24 years, Groupia Ltd, which specialises in group holidays, including stag and hen weekends, entered administration on June 16, 2026, and has ceased all operations. The holiday company, based in Bath, offered a wide range of group holiday trips to destinations across the UK and Europe, including Barcelona, Croatia, Prague, and Split.

Since it launched in 2002, the company, which also trades as Groupia Golf, GoHen, StagWeb, Groupia School Trips, and Company Away Day, is said to have helped more than 750,000 holidaymakers. With an aim to provide "group travel, made easy", they offered everything from spa retreats to golf trips to professional corporate weekend getaways and team tours.

The company said they took care of the "split payments and the chasing" for group trips, while customers could take "the credit for the best trip ever". Yet after more than 20 years, it will no longer provide the helpful booking service.

A notice on the Groupia website stated that Nigel Fox and Christopher Marsden of S&W Partners LLP have been appointed as Joint Administrators. It then confirmed: "The Company has now ceased taking new bookings, and arrangements are in place with ABTOT to support customers with existing bookings."

They outlined that customers with bookings in place on or before 31 August 2026 will still go ahead. In a statement, they said: "ABTOT have arrangements in place, and your event is expected to go ahead as planned. Please continue to use the Company's existing VIP booking system to manage your booking."

Meanwhile, holidays booked with Groupia from 1 September 2026 onwards will be cancelled, and customers will be entitled to a refund. They said: "Your event will unfortunately be cancelled and is subject to a refund claim." They added that how you claim depends on "how you paid" - if you have a holiday booked and need further details, you can visit their website for more information.

While Groupia officially launched in 2002, the idea had been brewing for a few years. Under its about page on the website, it stated: "In 1999, Groupia's founder Simon Denning found himself staring down the barrel of a Best Man invitation, having little luck in finding a quality travel provider that could deal with different-sized groups and deliver high levels of customer care. One happy wedding, a funny wedding speech and some questionable wedding dancefloor moves later, StagWeb was born.

"Since then, over 750,000 clients have travelled with us and the Groupia family has grown to incorporate." The company was frequently hailed for making group trips so much easier to arrange and book, while also being "at a very reasonable price".
