Im A Celeb: Simon and Adam take on Castle Scare Fair

I'm a Celebrity viewers will see a battle of the Soap stars tonight as Simon Gregson and Adam Woodyatt go head-to-head against each other after a later entry than fellow campmates to the Welsh castle quarters.

Soap fans will best know the pair as long-running characters with Adam as cheeky cabbie Steve McDonald in Corrie whilst Adam has played Ian Beale in EastEnders for over three decades.

And as the new ITV series continues the newcomers will take to a stage backdrop for 'Castle Scare Fair' as their campmates watch on.

In a show preview, the duo appear with their heads encased in a glass boxes and bodies appear behind a comical wooden backdrop depicting iconic singers Freddie Mercury and Brian May for the 'Queen in the Castle' challenge.

Both celebs don protective goggles before being locked in the boxes as snakes are set free.

In one shot Adam can be seen with an open mouth - as a all important gold star is within grasp of the corner of his mouth.

Watching campmates assembled react as Frankie Bridge can be heard saying 'lovely' as a snake is dropped on Simon's head and Adam's face is covered with the creatures momentarily taking him out of view.

The actors were tasked to use their tongues and chins to spin yellow stars free from special metal hooks and securing them for their team.

But the soap stars eagerly anticipated arrival was met by shock from soap fans as 53-year-old Adam's appearance was significantly different from his character Ian.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer exclaimed: "Wow has Adam been in waiting at the castle dungeon for a few weeks already? Hes a shadow of his former self?!"

Another asked: "Why does Ian Beale not look like Ian Beale?"
