Amadeus is a five-episode limited series launching on Sky Atlantic and NOW on December 21, starring Will Sharpe as the legendary composer.

Amadeus official Sky TV trailer

Amadeus makes its debut on Sky Atlantic and NOW today, featuring Will Sharpe in the lead role as the renowned composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The historical drama, a five-part limited series, charts the meteoric rise and subsequent fall of the musical genius, while fellow composer Antonio Salieri grapples with growing envy over his success.

Directed by Julian Farino and Alice Seabright, Amadeus is an adaptation of Peter Shaffer's acclaimed stage play, brought to the small screen by Black Doves' Joe Barton. The series arrives more than four decades after Milo Forman's Oscar-winning film bearing the same title.

According to the TV series synopsis on IMDb: "25 year old Amadeus arrives in Vienna, unemployed following his father's death. He forms an alliance with singer Constanze Weber, who assists him in entering the circle of court composer Salieri, sparking a rivalry that shapes their legacies."
