The new season of Euphoria saw some cast members missing, including Barbie Ferreira, heres the scoop on her absence.
Euphoria has finally hit screens with a significant time-jump seeing the audiences the cast leaving behind high school for the real-world.
The new series of Euphoria comes four years after the previous season and will pick up with each of the characters in a very different place in their lives.
However, Euphoria is missing cast member Angus Cloud - better known as Fezco O'Neill - following his death in 2023.
Another important presence is Barbie Ferreira, who departed after season two as Kat Hernandez.
Heres a look at why the actress left the show after she addressed her reasons for leaving.
Sky is giving away free subscriptions to HBO Max with its 24 Ultimate TV bundle, which also includes Netflix, Disney+, discovery+, Hayu, and around 135 channels at no extra cost.
Kat was last seen in season two and actress Ferreira decided to bow out at this point.
She explained in a recent interview with Collider how she felt that her Euphoria alter-ego wasnt Kat anymore and that it was the end of the story because there wasnt much further to go with the character.
Ferreira said that there could have been other directions to take Kat but that it just wasnt happening and that the role was becoming more of a background character.
This shift in Kat on the series prompted Ferreira to exit as she said: I felt like I wanted to do more things.
I didn't care if it was like the biggest TV show on HBO.
Adding: And I went straight into doing like $1 million budget indies, you know?
She said her acting was more about expressing herself and that she felt like she wasn't showing my potential as the actress that I know that I am.
Since her departure, actress and model Ferreira has taken on a multitude of other roles, including films Nope, Bob Trevino Likes It, and House of Spoils.
She will next be starring in the film Mile End Kicks and Faces of Death.
In a separate chat with Deadline, Ferreira said that she it was a very personal decision to walk away from Euphoria.
She wanted to be creatively fulfilled and wanted to show my range, which her diminishing role as Kat in the series wasnt allowing her to do.
Musically-inspired romantic comedy Mile End Kicks sees her playing a music critic Grace, who is working on a book about Alanis Morissettes Jagged Little Pill, but she ends up falling for a member of a local indie rock group and tries to get closer to the band as she writing ambitions fall to the wayside.
The part of Grace was inspired by writer-director Chandler Levacks days on the 2011 Montreal scene.
Meanwhile, horror flick Faces of Death is a reimagining of the 1978 original.
This time, Ferreira plays Margot, who moderates a TikTok-esque social media video platform called Kino and removes content that goes over the community guidelines.
However, when she stumbles across a video that appears to show a murder, she finds herself getting in deep when more videos from the same user start to come in.
Faces of Death also stars Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery, Josie Totah, Aaron Holliday, Jermaine Fowler, and Charli XCX.
Euphoria season 3 airs on HBO in the USA on Sundays and on HBO Max, NOW and Sky on Mondays
