A music 'legend' appeared on BBC Breakfast in honour of the late Bonnie Tyler.

This morning's (August 15) instalment of the flagship news programme featured an interview with musician Suzi Quatro who shared a decades-long friendship with the Welsh songstress.

Bonnie, whose catalogue features smash hits like Total Eclipse of the Heart and Holding Out for a Hero, died at the age of 75 in July this year. Today, her coffin will travel through the streets of her home village of Mumbles in South Wales with hundreds of people expected to line the streets.

Her funeral will take place on Monday (August 17) in Swansea city centre before the cortege then makes its way to Bonnie's birthplace of Skewen.

In honour of her homecoming, BBC Breakfast host Charlie Stayt caught up with another musical icon who was among Bonnie's inner-circle.

"I've known her a very, very long time. I started in '73 and she stated in '76 so just a few years after me, but we ran along a tandem path," Suzi started. "Our careers are very parallel... We were always meeting up at gigs around the world and we always talked."

Suzi, who fronted band The Pleasure Seekers, was quick to share her favourite memories of the star. She told Charlie: "We did so many gigs together, of course I'm a musician as well.

"And I came off stage and I'll never forget it, Bonnie went 'What did you do to those people?' and that made me laugh. Aw, that's a nice memory to have of her."

Addressing the procession expected today, the star had an emotional farewell message to share. She added: "And so it's time to finally say goodbye to my fellow rock singer, my fellow Gemini. Boy, oh boy.

"And, my friend, you have left your voice in this world big time. Now you are singing with angels. Rest in peace, love, and - the most important thing - respect."
