Benidorm is Murder star John Hannah has paid tribute to his new co-star.
The actor is starring in the new Channel 5 crime drama, which shares a link to Death in Paradise, having been penned by the same writer, alongside Carolina Becquer as Rosa.
The synopsis previously teased: "Dennis is a burned-out ex-police officer hiding behind a failing Scottish pub in Benidorm. Rosa is an aspiring actress, obsessed with classic British crime shows, who talks her way into his bar, his investigations, and his life.
"Together, they're the last people anyone would trust to solve a murder which is exactly why they keep solving them.
Set in the glorious and chaotic Benidorm tribute acts, bingo queens, hen parties, sunburnt tourists and bar owners hanging on by a thread Benidorm is Murder treats its setting as a beating heart, not as a punchline.
"Each episode delivers a fresh puzzle: clues, twists, a satisfying solution, and a corner of this febrile resort that turns unexpectedly deadly.
It goes on: "But the deeper Dennis and Rosa dig into Benidorm's underbelly, the more his past claws its way back. When an old enemy walks into The Tavern and a lock-in ends with blood on the floor, Dennis becomes the number one suspect in a murder mystery even he might not be able to solve."
Ahead of the series airing, John paid tribute to his new co-star, Carolina, as she revealed this was her first major TV role.
He exclusively shared: Shes fantastic, lovely to work with, how easy. There was no screaming abdabs or anything like, I couldnt do it.
Speaking about taking on her new role, Carolina had shared her connection to her character Rosa.
She said: I loved it, I love crime dramas and mysteries, I was not expecting it to be so funny.
I think thats one of the things that attracted me most from the script. I was reading it at home and laughing out loud, and Rosas character, I felt an immediate connection to her.
She went on: I felt such a strong connection to her, I knew who she was and how I wanted to play her, and that had never happened before. And in the audition, I just had so much fun, it was so fun to play her.
Benidorm is Murder is available to watch on Channel 5.
