Fans predict big trouble for Leanne as one resident will be 'gunning for revenge'

Coronation Street fans watched Leanne Battersby deal with her recent heartbreak in an unexpected way on Wednesday nights trip to the cobbles.

Its not been an easy time for Leanne, who has had to deal with the betrayal of Nick and her sister Toyahs romance behind her back. Now, it looks like shes turned to a former lover for comfort.

Steve McDonald was seen inviting Leanne over for a glass of wine back at home, and one glass lead to another. The pair began to speak about their late son, Oliver who was conceived after a one night stand. Oliver tragically passed away at the age of three after suffering from mitochondrial disease.

"I couldn't think of a better person to have a child with. I've always been in awe of your strength, I still am, Steve gushed towards Leanne. One thing led to another, before Leanne leaned in for a kiss. Then, things got even steamer when they moved to the bedroom. It comes after a heartbroken Leanne was seen getting intimate with Ryan Connor.

Although fans were shocked at the reunion between Steve and Leanne, many were all for it, as one commented: I actually prefer leanne with steve more than Nick, as another replied: I agree I hope they get together.

They are actually suited, said a third, while a fourth commented: I hope they get back together. However, some predict there could be trouble brewing for Leanne with Tracy who will be gunning for revenge.

One person who will gun for revenge - Tracy, yes, who has just become good friends with Leanne. That'll be short lived! exclaimed one fan on Reddit, while another said: It would make sense that the writers have them (briefly) as friends, if Leanne then has a thing with Steve. It would provide more aggro between the two women. Let's hope there's some humour in it all. Another agreed: I wonder how Tracey will take it when she finds out about Leanne & Steve hooking up? there may be trouble ahead!"

Tracy Barlow made her return in Weatherfield after leaving early last year for a new life abroad with Tommy Orpington. However, she then came back to the show after a fallout with Tommy, before she left again to be with him.

At the start of last year, Steve was left heartbroken when Tracy made it clear their marriage was well and truly over. She proceeded to rub salt in the wounds after it was revealed former footballer Tommy has been an idol of Steve's for years.
