Professor T fans in the UK don't have much longer to wait for series four to be aired. ITV recently announced that the new series will premiere on ITV1 at 9pm on Wednesday, August 19.

The show's return is more than two years after the third series concluded in May 2024. While UK viewers have had to wait, the latest instalment has already been shown in the US, where it first aired almost a year ago.

The new series picks up in the wake of the dramatic series three finale, when DS Lisa Donckers was seriously injured in a devastating hit-and-run. The aftermath of the shocking incident will play a central role in the upcoming episodes.

According to ITV, the following series will see the meticulous Professor Tempest investigate a boxing bout that ends in bloodshed, as well as a string of mysterious sudden deaths at a luxury spa.

The broadcaster has also teased that several fan-favourite characters will be forced to make difficult decisions, with higher stakes than ever before for Professor T and his team.
