Emmerdale fans 'solve' Dr Todd's 'true fate' as villain 'not really dead'

Emmerdale fans are convinced Dr Todd is still alive on the ITV soap despite her onscreen accidental murder in a recent episode, with viewers questioning a possible twist

Emmerdale Mack Boyd star Lawrence Robb confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

Dr Todd's true fate on Emmerdale is being discussed by suspicious viewers of the ITV soap.

Many do not think Todd is actually dead, and a twist could loom. It wouldn't be the first time a villain faked their death, and now fans think she's going to end up coming back.

Some fans speculated this because the recent flashforward teasing her demise "didn't match the final scene" when she was killed by Sarah Sugden on Sunday. Others just didn't think that the fall would have killed her, after Sarah shoved her and Todd tripped over a rug, banging her head on a table.

Now, those who have seen Monday's episode will likely know Todd's fate, and that the chances of her being alive are very minimal if not non-existent. That said, it hasn't stopped fans wondering if the characters are mistaken, and Todd will be alive after all.

Taking to social media, one fan posted: "I don't think Todd is dead. She only banged her head I think she waked up and tells Sarah about the baby."

Another fan said: "I don't think Todd is dead. She is very twisted and got something up her sleeve." A third fan added: "Think there is a twist to come."

A fourth fan posted: "She is not dead we know she dies on a hospital floor." A final fan posted: "I pray she's dead but I think there is a twist."

Despite the theories, Emmerdale had confirmed Todd would be killed off weeks ago. A flashforward showed a camera flashing at a crime scene, with Todd dead on the floor and blood around her head.

It does seem this scene back then mirrors the scene shown across Sunday and Monday's episodes. So there you have it, Todd is dead, but we wouldn't put it past Emmerdale with a twist or two on the way.

The Mirror spoke with Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw about what the fallout would hold for killer Sarah and her grandmother Charity. Of course Todd was about to reveal the truth about baby Leyla just before she died, but for now that truth stays hidden.

Fans know that Sarah's baby daughter Leyla is in fact the biological daughter of Charity and Ross Barton. Charity, who agreed to be Sarah's surrogate, lied that the baby was Sarah and her partner Jacob's.

Laura told us of what's ahead: "Charity and Sarah are locked in a secret and that's going to be long-lasting and going forward, that's going to affect their relationship. Obviously, there's still the baby secret to come out at some point."
