A new April Windsor update may have been revealed in spoilers for upcoming Emmerdale episodes, ahead of a tragic stabbing twist.

Amid new discoveries about the missing teen being made following on from her Christmas Day disappearance, a new spoiler line for the middle of January, for episodes after a devastating twist, could seal her fate. Viewers learned recently that the first week of January would see a special episode air, focusing on the local hospital.

With medical student Jacob Gallagher beginning his A&E placement chaos quickly ensues, with village residents admitted and a horrifying stabbing. A young victim of a knife attack is bright into the hospital, and Jacob immediately recognises the purse found on the victim as belonging to missing April.

With April missing for weeks at this point with no clues to her whereabouts, Jacob fears the worst and calls her dad Marlon Dingle who soon arrives with his wife Rhona. As Marlon and Rhona fret over whether the victim is April, a nurse arrives and delivers some shocking and sad news.

But is the stabbing victim April, or could it be someone else? New spoilers could suggest that April either survives the incident or is not the youngster brought in.

Spoilers for the episodes airing the week after tease the search is very much still on for the missing 15 year old. Marlon takes matters into his own hands as no one is able to find the teenager, and he desperately pleads for her return.

Marlon records a video of himself, an appeal, to post on social media. If April was the stabbing victim, with the person's fate not yet confirmed, why would a search be ongoing?

Marlon wouldn't need to film an appeal video to beg for her return if she was in hospital or had sadly been killed. The spoilers reveal: "Marlon is determined to continue with the quest to find April."

This implies April is still out there and still hasn't been found, and given these scenes air days after the hospital episode it will probably mean April is not the victim at the hospital. So why did they have her purse, and what has really happened to April?

Marlon faces a setback when the video he films is met with trolling online. He considers deleting it from social media, but soon he puts his foot down amid his determination to find his daughter and he and Rhona agree to keep it online incase April sees it.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .
