Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley opens up about his grandma's hilarious age observation

Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley is celebrating 21 years of being on the ITV soap. However his gran had a blunt observation for him after watching a recent episode

Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley left the Loose Women panel in stitches when he revealed his nan's hilarious recent observation.

The 50-year-old soap star, who is celebrating 21 years of playing character Cain Dingle on the show, opened up about how he feels to have marked the milestone in his acting career.

Calling into ITV's Loose Women, Jeff also revealed to the panel that his grandma had some stern remarks after watching one of his recent episodes.

Chatting to Nadia Sawalha, Stacey Solomon, Judi Love and Kaye Adams on the show, Jeff revealed that his grandma had bluntly shared her thoughts on how his appearance had changed.

During the show, Nadia cheekily suggested that Jeff was a 'sex symbol' but the actor said his nan thought otherwise.

"I tell you what, not according to my nan," he laughed.

I rang my nan to tell her I was appearing on Loose Women and whilst I rang her she said Jeffrey, youve just rang me at 7.20pm and Emmerdale is on can I call you back?" he said on today's show.

Jeff added: When she rang back she said oh, you do look old.

Stacey Solomon then added: "I love nannas so much!"

Jeff first made his Emmerdale debut in March 2000.

Known as a 'bad boy' on the popular soap, the actor has firmly cemented his legacy on the show with some iconic storylines.

However while his character is known to be quite ruthless, the Loose Women pointed out that Jeff is actually the opposite.

Although he doesn't share many similarities with his character, Jeff did admit that he wished he could have one of Cain's traits.

Elsewhere in the interview, he said: A quality Id like to have more like him? Do you know what I would like?

"Sometimes in England we are all too polite and after the moment youre thinking I wish Id said that thats the bit of Cain Id like in my life because he just says what he sees and holds no prisoners.

His appearance on Loose Women comes just after his on-screen mum Faith Dingle made a surprise return to the show after being abandoned by her family in 2019.

It remains to be seen whether Faith will be able to re-connect with Cain.
