Gemma Atkinson reveals her wedding to Gorka Marquez has been put on hold for a second time

Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez have put their wedding on hold for a second time three years after the proposal.

The couple met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and Gorka got down on one knee back in 2021. Ahead of the return of their reality series, Life Behind the Lens, Gemma revealed that the couple have decided to delay their wedding to make sure all members of their family can take part.

She explained that they delayed their wedding following the proposal as they wanted their daughter Mia, four, to walk down the aisle and now they want their son, Thiago, nine months, to do the same.Gemma said: Wed like Thiago to be involved now so were going to have to wait another year or so.

When we first got engaged we said well get Mia walking down the aisle and then Thiago came along... and theres no time! Gemma admitted the couple have yet to decide how big a wedding they want.

She added: We were toying with just going to a registry office and then having a big party after. But I think my mum would like to see me walk down the aisle so no plans yet but one day it will happen.

Opening up on the arrival of their son, Gemma admitted it's been "twice the chaos" but also "twice the love". She continued: "I think we're doing alright. Everyone said twice the stress, twice the exhaustion, but it's also twice the love and twice the lovely chaos.

"We know Thiago is our last baby because we've been blessed with a boy and a girl. And you get to relive Mia through him again, although he's his own person. Gorka was feeding him last night in his rocking chair and he said it reminded him of when Mia was like that, because we're never going to get this stage again. So, we're just trying to soak this in more and appreciate it."

"Hes definitely slotted in, and I think you're a lot more chilled with the second because you know you can do it. I guess youre tired and knackered, but you were anyway! And Mias a fantastic sister. She's so hands on with Thiago.

"We were a bit late for school today and shed forgotten to give him a kiss, so she had to run back in the house and give him a kiss before we left. So, we're very lucky. It's like a nice little complete family with chaos. Two kids, two dogs and a Spaniard!"

Gemma and Gorka met on Strictly when the former Hollyoaks star was paired up with professional Alja korjanec. They came second on the 15th series of the BBC show and her relationship with Gorka has gone from strength to strength.
