The stars of Good Morning Britain paid tribute to Lucy Davis during the latest live show.

The 53-year-old actress, who played Dawn Tinsley in the original UK version of The Office, has revealed that she has "incurable" breast cancer.

In a post on Instagram on Tuesday (August 11), Lucy said that she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer a year-and-a-half ago, which has now metastasized to her bones - specifically to her spine, right hip and ribs.

"The cancer is incurable, and too late for chemo," she added, explaining that she was "at peace" with whatever comes next.

The stars of Good Morning Britain discussed the heartbreaking news during Wednesday's (August 12) live show, and paid tribute to the actress.

Ranvir Singh said: "The lovely Lucy Davis from The Office... It's a terrible shock. She's got incurable secondary breast cancer, it's spread throughout her body. She's only 53.

"We all remember The Office, what an amazing show. She played Dawn Tinsley in that sitcom. And, of course, as always when someone comes out and talks about [cancer], it hits home and usually people react at home to go, 'Should I check my body?'

"We've seen it with prostate cancer, we've seen it with the King talking about cancer. It always has a knock-on effect. One of the things she said was, 'The initial lump I felt wasn't a lump as such, rather a kind of hard spot. Really tiny.'

"And she says, 'I almost didn't bother getting it checked, so I guess I'm saying don't ignore anything. Get everything checked out.' That's probably the most, one of the most, important messages she's giving."

The ITV presenter went on: "Her attitude though, remarkable. She says, 'I'll see my dog earlier than I thought I would, my Gracie.' It's important, isn't it, when people bravely come out and talk about it, [like] Sir Chris Hoy. It is important. We sit up and listen."

Ranvir concluded: "One of the things she says is she wants to live out her life doing fun things, so I certainly hope Lucy is going to be out watching the solar eclipse, because it certainly is a once in a generation experience."

Following her post on social media, Lucy received an outpouring of support from fans and well-wishers.

The Office US star Jenna Fischer, who went through her own breast cancer diagnosis in 2024, wrote: "Beautiful post. Love you lots. And yes to working with cancer! Let's spread that message far and wide! How working is such a comfort!"
