For those who have yet to get around to viewing for themselves, the story sees one young family wake up one morning and find themselves unexpectedly and suddenly trapped in their homes.
They quickly realise they have to work together in order to survive. Meanwhile, whatever is keeping them inside, lurks outside their walls.
While reviews are mixed, the unexpected twists have kept viewers hooked. But what exactly happens at the end of The Last House? What or who are the creatures? Here's all you need to know.

The film's director has since confirmed that the creatures hunting the family are "ancient ocean dwellers who have lived on Earth far longer than humanity has." They emerge essentially to take their planet back from humans after generations of pollution and climate change.
One of the characters compares them to other mythical beings such as mermaids, sirens and even a kraken. While they are neither of these things exactly, they could be seen as some kind of combination or a monster worthy of its own myth.
By the final scenes of the film, the Delgados have been trapped in their home for more than five years. With the children now well into their teenage years.
The family seem to figure out that not only are the creatures responsible for keeping them locked in, they can actually open the doors again. While this is not explained how exactly, they decide they need to force it to open the door somehow.
It enters via the sewage system and holes in the pipes. Once inside, the Delgados work together to capture it. Once they do so, Jason threatens it with a knife demanding the front door be opened.
Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new Sky Stream TV bundles, including the 15 Essential TV bundle.
This lets members watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish or aerial and includes hit shows like Stranger Things and The Last of Us.
His daughter Ruth, however, realises this is not the way. Somehow, she has figured out the creatures have been trying to communicate and any aggression is only them responding to violence in kind.
Jason drops the knife. As he does so, the creature opens the door. Not only that but as the Delgados venture outside, other creatures who approach eventually let them go.
According to the film's director Louis Leterrier, they are spared because they have shown to understood the creatures' message. This is to "learn how to live together" and choosing coexistence over violence.
The famlily enjoy their new found freedom for a moment as they explore the new world. It's not long before they make their way to a neighbour's boat to sail away.
As the family travel on the boat, Ruth's voiceover fills in some blanks to what has happened. It's revealed that she its sharing her family's story over a radio. They are trying to find a 'new home'.
Along the way they are hoping to reach out to any other survivors. Director Leterrier has confirmed there are other survivors. He hints that those who lived on higher ground, if they managed to form groups to work together, could have been at an advantage.
At the very last moment before credits begin, we hear a voice crackle through the radio saying: "Hello?" Leterrier refuses to confirm exactly who this is but says they are "a very, very, very iconic person".
Wagner Moura, who plays Jason, compares the film's ending to how people should have approached a post-Covid lockdown world. He said: "Well, I hope they discover that of course, the world changed. But I hope that they discover that there are good things about that change.
"I think that we came out of Covid. . .the end of the whole pandemic, I was like, Okay, the world is going to change. We are going come out of this with a different mindset. And I dont think we did. So I hope its different for the characters of the film.
