Olympian Tabby Stoeker 'set to make TV history' after signing for Strictly in the same week as Gladiators

Olympic gold medallist Tabby Stoeker has reportedly signed for this year's Strictly Come Dancing and is set to start rehearsals for the BBC show in the coming weeks.

And the star of the mixed team skeleton at this year's Winter Olympic Games, 25, has become the first person to take part in two prime time TV shows as she signed for Strictly in the same week she made her TV debut on Gladiators.

Due to her tight TV schedule, Tabby will have her work cut out in order to squeeze in rehearsal time as she is filming the Gladiators in Sheffield at the Utilita Arena and will have to then make her way to London for Strictly.

A TV source told The Sun: "Signing with two of tellys biggest shows is hugely prestigious. It is virtually unprecedented."

They added: "It also means that shell be on our screens on a Saturday night for almost seven months in a row. Strictly runs from September to December and Gladiators airs from January and can go on until March.

"Shes likely to be invited on the Strictly tour in the new year too so shes going to be kept very busy and will see her profile soar."

Tabby started off her career as the British Schools Gymnastics Champion and was also an acrobat before swapping her career path, which earned her a string of medals.

News of Tabby joining Strictly and making her Gladiators debut in the same week comes after it was reported that a third Gladiator star had fallen victim to the BBC's ruthless axe.

Better known as Cyclone, Lystus Ebosele will no longer star in the upcoming series after joining the show back in 2025.

And to confirm her departure, the Gladiator tag was removed from her Instagram bio.

She also unfollowed the production company Hungry Bear and deleted all pictures of her while being a Gladiator.

A source told The Sun at the time: "Cyclone wont be back and shes not happy about it. Shes now cut all ties with the show its a pity as fans absolutely loved her."

But she is not the only star to have faced the chop, so too have two other Gladiators, Bionic, whose real name is Matty Campbell and Athena, who goes by Karenjeet Kaur Bains.

A source told the publication: "They wont film this year for the show but could be back for the tour, depending on how they recover from their injuries."

A spokesman for the BBC said of Tabby's rumoured Strictly signing: "We don't comment on speculation."
