The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is coming to ITV tonight, bringing a real-life nightmare to the small screen.

Biographical drama The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox originally aired on Hulu and Disney+ last year, and is now coming to ITV.

The hard-hitting drama tells the unbelievable story of American student Amanda Knox, who was wrongfully arrested and convicted for the murder of her British roommate Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy.

Amanda spent almost four years in an Italian prison before she was released in 2011 and fully exonerated by Italys highest court in 2015.

Taking on the titular role of Amanda Knox, who goes through a series of tragic events, is actress Grace Van Patten.

She has featured in two Netflix films, Tramps and The Meyerowitz Stories, as well as Prime Videos Nine Perfect Strangers.

However, Van Patten is best known for starring as Lucy Albright in the dark romantic drama Tell Me Lies, which aired its final series earlier this year.

Actress Sharon Horgan takes on the role of Amanda Knoxs mum, Edda Mellas.

Irish star Horgan is known for starring in Bad Sisters, Catastrophe, Pulling, and BBC drama Best Interests, which recently dropped on Netflix.

She is also famed for her work behind the camera, having co-created hit shows like the BBC sitcom Motherland.

Amandas life takes a dark turn in the drama the morning she is supposed to leave for a romantic trip with her new Italian boyfriend, Faffaele Sollecito.

He is portrayed by actor Giuseppe De Domenico, whose most notable roles have been in ZeroZeroZero, Bang Bang Baby, and Last to Brake.

Deanna Knox - Anna Van Patten

Actress Anna Van Patten is behind one of Amandas three younger sisters, Deanna Knox.

Euphoria fans will recognise Van Patten as Kitty from the third and final season of the HBO drama.

Some of her other roles have been in the Gossip Girl reboot as Grace Byron and in the 2022 horror Master as Libby.

Van Patten is the younger sister of The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox star Grace Van Patten, whose dad is the director of The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire, Timothy Van Patten.

Actor John Hoogenakker starred as Matice in the Prime Video adaptation of Jack Ryan, Andy Montgomery in Apple TVs The Morning Show, and Carl Wilkes in Hulus Castle Rock.

She portrayed Sophie in spy drama Hanna, Bekhal Mahmod in ITVs Honour and Rani Rekowski in BBC sitcom The Outlaws.

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox premieres tonight, Friday, July 17, at 9pm, on ITV and ITVX.
