Vanessa Feltz has received backlash from viewers over the new set for her show, after relaunching it for the third time.
The daytime telly veteran isn't giving up with her self-titled chat show, Vanessa, with Channel 5 sinking "time and money" into the programme, which took a hiatus for December. It was shelved in October after seven months but returned for the new year.
The shortened version of her chat show sees the 63-year-old host an hour-long programme between 2pm and 3pm, where viewers "set the agenda". Posting on social media, Vanessa invited viewers to "get involved."
The mum-of-two wrote: "Have your say. Give me a ring. Set the agenda. I want to talk about what you want to talk about. Let me know. Cant wait to see you there. Big kiss V."
But Vanessa's new set hasn't gone down well with viewers, who described it as "cheap and tacky". Joking on social media, one said: "It looks like something Celebrity Big Brother would set up in the task room so Vanessa Feltz could host a talk show task."
Another social media user added: "Oh bless her it doesnt look great. I think shes a great TV personality though."
A TV discussion account on X wrote: "Its a new year new set across the board apparently, even Vanessa on 5 has gotten rid of her horrific pink sofas in favour of what looks like a fake podcast studio." Another viewer replied: "Looks cheap and tacky."
Someone else commented: "What in the B&M, crushed velvet, cheap podcasting s**** is this?" While another asked: "Is there any reason why she just cant use the Jeremy Vine / Storm studio?"
A Channel 5 source said Vanessa is aware that "a lot is riding on the next few months." As reported by the Sun, they said: "Vanessa is putting everything she has into the show to make it a success. Despite it being a tricky time for terrestrial telly, shes confident it deserves to be on the schedule and has big plans for 2026."
The insider added: "Channel 5 have already put a lot of time and money into launching the show, but it hasnt taken off as much as they would have liked."
Vanessa has been protective of her chat show in the past. Back in March last year, she slammed one dissatisfied viewer who tuned into her new Channel 5 show after he said that he would rather 'scoop his eyes out with a spoon' than watch the show.
Reading out messages from her viewers, Vanessa said: "James Martin says, 'I would rather someone scooped my eyes out with a spoon.'" Vanessa was quick to quip back however, revealing that she had a spoon ready for James to do so.
"It turns out we actually have a spoon here which I'm going to send to you and you can personally scoop out your eyes with it, James. We're going to post it to you right now," Vanessa added.
The TV presenter opened up last year about leaving This Morning after 33 years to host Vanessa, revealing that she would have loved to do both shows. "I love This Morning, I would never leave it, I couldn't love it more," she told Metro.
"I would happily have stayed and gone on the back of a motorbike from the This Morning studio straight to Channel 5 and done both. I almost believed I'd be able to do that, but I think apparently, it's not the way it's done... but I'd have done it, and I think they would have been happy for me to do it too."
