Americas Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is back for its third season this week, with seven all-new episodes dropping on Netflix on Tuesday, 16th June.


The smash-hit docuseries follows the cheerleading squad for one of the biggest sports franchises in world history, charting their gruelling training regimes all the way to sensational live performances for tens of thousands of spectators.


This time around, the stakes have never been higher as creator Greg Whiteley pulls back the curtain on the 2025-26 season, with just six new spots available on the squad.

Plus, as both the Netflix series and the NFL grow in popularity year on year, the cheerleaders face overwhelming attention from fans and the media as their professional and personal lives are put under the microscope.

For those who cant get enough of Americas Sweethearts but are uninitiated when it comes to the NFL, lets take a look at some burning questions fans might have heading into the third season.

The Dallas Cowboys are owned by American billionaire businessman Jerry Jones and have been since 1989.

Jones purchased the NFL team from philanthropist Bum Bright for $140 million (104 million). Bright owned them from 1984-89.


As well as being the owner, Jones is also the president and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, as well as the controlling shareholder for the business.

Before owning the team, Jones had a promising career as a footballer himself as he was co-captain for the University of Arkansas' 1964 national championship football team.


It was there he met Jimmy Johnson, who became the Dallas Cowboys first head coach when Jones bought the team.

He then went on to make investments in oil drilling, retail and real estate in Dallas, Texas, earning millions throughout the 1970s.

Since purchasing the Dallas Cowboys, Jones has made them the most valuable sports franchise in the world as well as one of the most successful NFL teams of all time.

They are second only to the Green Bay Packers in the overall NFL season rankings, having won 576 games to 432 losses.

The Dallas Cowboys also won the Super Bowl three times in the 1990s under Jones leadership, defeating the Buffalo Bills twice in 1993 and 1994 and the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1996.

According to Forbes, the teams value is estimated to be roughly $13 billion (9.68 billion). Jones own net worth is around $19 billion (14.15 billion).
