The 13th May 1950 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, would be the first Formula One race of it's kind.
That year, Juan Manuel Fangio of Argentina won, driving an Alfa Romeo SpA. Britain produced drivers
who would become household names, like Mike Hawthorn, Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, Graham Hill and Jackie Stewart.
In 1958 Maria Teresa de Filippis from Italy, was the first female F1 driver, competing at The Monaco Grand Prix.
