Rare photos from inside Clarence House show King Charles III has a singular picture of himself with one of his grandkids propped up on his desk in the private residence's Garden Room.

Royal fans have been treated to a rare peek inside King Charles' private quarters, thanks to a handful of photographs taken in December 2025 which offer fascinating behind-the-scenes insight.

It's well known that Clarence House - the current London home of King Charles III and Queen Camilla - stands as one of the Royal Family's most significant seats of influence.

The King's London abode was passed down from his cherished grandmother, the Queen Mother, and served as the home where he brought up his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Those who follow the royals are perpetually eager for a closer look at the daily lives of Britain's Royal Family, and some images circulating online have delivered precisely that.

In what could be interpreted as a revealing indication of the King's affection for his grandchildren, there appears to be a single photograph of King Charles with just one of his grandchildren displayed on his desk in Clarence House's Garden Room, reports the Express.

On 9 December 2025, Queen Camilla held a charity afternoon tea for Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) at Clarence House. She welcomed the UK charity, which works to raise awareness of and improve responses to economic abuse, into the Royal residence.

As she entertained her guests in Clarence House's Garden Room, photographs from the occasion provided an intimate look at the space, and it was here that one item on the desk highlighted King Charles' special connection with one of his grandchildren.

Displayed prominently on His Majesty's dark wooden desk - positioned directly beside a photograph of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, another black-and-white image hidden from sight, and a stack of books and official-looking various items - sits a photograph of King Charles holding his eldest grandchild, Prince George, on his Christening Day.

In the official christening images from St James's Palace on 23 October 2013, Prince George appears wearing a beautiful Honiton lace gown while grandfather Charles holds him and smiles warmly at the camera.

What rendered Prince George's Christening Day particularly memorable was the fact it marked the first occasion since 1894 that four generations of the Royal Family were captured together, genuinely making the moment one for the history books.

King Charles has five grandchildren: Kate and William's Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and Meghan and Harry's Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

It's widely known Charles hasn't had much contact with Harry's children, a circumstance which appears unlikely to alter in the near future with Harry having severed connections with the Royals and residing in Montecito, California.

With Prince George's photograph securing a prominent position on the King's desk, Royal observers everywhere have attempted to decipher the pecking order of his affections regarding his grandchildren.

While royal commentators suggest the photograph simply represents the direct succession line to the throne, the exclusion of Charles' remaining four grandchildren has sparked curiosity.

The notable absence of Harry's children from this prominent portrait hasn't escaped the attention of dedicated Royal Family watchers, reinforcing the perception that the Sussexes' offspring continue to be viewed as outsiders under present circumstances.

Nevertheless, a substantial portion of the public has quietly suspected for years that Charles' most cherished grandchild is actually Kate and William's youngest, Prince Louis.

Born on 23 April 2018, Prince Louis has recently celebrated his eighth birthday, and has consistently been the Royal grandchild who has captivated audiences worldwide with his playful behaviour during official appearances.

Frequently described as the 'most relatable' amongst the Royal youngsters, King Charles' particular affection for Louis was unmistakably apparent during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee Pageant on 5 June 2022, when the senior Royal was observed entertaining and thoroughly enjoying himself with his grandson.

Louis remained perched on his grandfather's lap throughout much of the procession as the youngster swayed and danced along to the melodies playing in the surroundings.

Some maintain Princess Charlotte has the King completely charmed, with the monarch reportedly holding a particular affection for his granddaughter. King Charles has not laid eyes on his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet since June 2022, during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee festivities.

While it remains uncertain whether the families maintain any virtual contact, Charles had previously expressed that he "couldn't be more delighted" upon the arrival of Harry's firstborn, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

All eyes will be on whether King Charles will manage to reunite with his son Harry and his two grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, during his forthcoming trip to the United States, scheduled from 27 to 30 April, before heading to Bermuda from 1 to 2 May.

As for whether a brief stopover to visit his estranged family will feature in his itinerary, only time will tell.
