Baffling detail Love Island fans just don't understand after winner announced

Some fans have called out a repeated issue with this season of Love Island

Some fans of Love Island have admitted that there are some baffling details surrounding the latest season that they just don't understand even after the winners were announced.

Lorenzo Alessi and Julia Majchrzak came out top of the public vote and won the 50,000 prize. They triumphed over Jasmine and Kavan, as well as Angelista and Simba.

It all came after eight weeks of love triangles and plenty of dramatic moments. While some questions remained over the solidity of many relationships between the couples who made it to the final week, most of them were defiant that their romantic futures looked bright.

Understandably so as many of the couples had dropped the 'L bomb' or announced their exclusivity ahead of the live final.

This included Lorenzo, despite being in his fourth couple that he was part of throughout his time in the villa. Some viewers still theorised during the series that he might get together with his original partner and fellow finalist Jasmine.

However, that was not the case. In fact, Lorenzo decided to make things 'exclusive' with Julia, something that was announced during the Islanders' celebratory dinner. Meanwhile, Mica and Samraj, who missed out on a place in the final revealed they had finally said 'I love you'.

But chatting about this with host Maya Jama, they quickly denied it meant that they were boyfriend and girlfriend. This unusual quirk has confused a number of fans.

One took to Love Island UK's subreddit and posted: "This is the one thing I don't understand about the villa. Everyone seems so much more comfortable saying 'I love you' than they do committing to being boyfriend and girlfriend?

"Mica and Samraj have both said they love each other, and that the next step is boyfriend and girlfriend. I think the same is true with a few other couples in the villa."

They weren't alone as one replied: "It's so weird, I would probably avoid saying I love you on TV at all, it's a weird environment and I would want some space before saying something that serious"

Another added: "Islanders act like saying you're bf and gf is getting engaged and it's ridiculously funny. Maybe its more serious because they will be in the spotlight but it isn't that serious and you are allowed to break up. You aren't engaged. You aren't married. It's literally what exclusive means."

Someone tried to understand it by suggesting: "I get having the term exclusive for the villa, and then exiting the villa and wanting to see what life is like before youre officially partners. However, IRL I agree. exclusive is the same thing as Bf and Gf."

While one person cited that of this year's cast, Aidan was surprisingly the person who seemed to define it best. They recalled: "To be fair, Aidan sort of said it best shockingly to his brother, Love is a feeling and an emotion, becoming girlfriend and boyfriend puts a label on it .

"Thats why people are more comfortable in saying they love you as they are talking about their feelings, becoming boyfriend and girlfriend puts a lot more pressure on it which sometimes isnt needed."

Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
