There's one aspect of Kev Barton's character that actor Chris Coghill isn't a fan of.
Emmerdale fans will know that Kev first appeared in the village back in September 2025, where he was introduced as Robert Sugden's (Ryan Hawley) estranged husband.
Over a series of flashbacks, it was revealed that Kev and Robert got married in prison. The drama escalated when Kev arrived in the village, culminating in him taking Robert and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) hostage with a samurai sword.
He later left the Dales, but has since returned to try and build a relationship with his son, Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches).
Kev has been keen to change his ways, but his old friend, Steve Sykes (Jason Done), has recently put a spanner in the works.
Kev has become a fan-favourite character in the Dales, with viewers often left in stitches while watching him. There's one particular part of his personality that soap fans have fallen in love with.
Emmerdale fans will know that Kev is partial to a singalong. He notably tried to win Robert back by singing Daniel Bedingfield's 2002 hit If You're Not the One, and even revealed his parentage to Lewis by belting out Boyzone's iconic single Father and Son.
Viewers will therefore be surprised to learn that actor Chris Coghill is not a fan of his character's hilarious singing moments.
Speaking to OK! Magazine and other press at a recent Emmerdale event in Leeds, Chris said that he "f****** hates" the musical numbers.
"Laura [Shaw, producer] did say to me the other week, 'Do you want to do All I Want for Christmas Is You?' And I said, 'If you keep it till Christmas 2029, I'll do it then!'" he joked.
"That's how my contract negotiations are going. But no, it's excruciating. Horrible."
Chris admitted that he isn't a karaoke person in real life, adding: "If I could sing, I wouldn't be an actor. If I could sing, I would have been in a band in the 1990s."
Later this week, Kev will continue to bond with his son, Lewis. While Kev is overjoyed at Lewis' offer to spend the day together, he's equally as concerned at keeping a secret buried.
Kev offers to teach Lewis to ride a bike when he admits that he never learned, but is left panicked when Lewis accepts. Could this bring them even closer?
Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
