Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks are stepping out of their reality TV comfort zones and into the world of extreme male grooming for a brand new documentary series on ITV.

Announced just yesterday (August 12), the three-part programme titled Sam & Pete: Dying to Look Good will immerse the beloved duo, known for their close friendship and candid chemistry, into the world of looksmaxxers and more.

Among the more alarming trends the duo will come face to face with is bonesmashing, a practice that exploded on social media platforms. Coined by self-proclaimed 'looksmaxxers', it involves tapping one's face with a hammer in a bid to reshape facial structure.

The documentary series is being produced by Crackit TV, with the company's CEO Elaine Hackett stressing that the show was not about judging people but instead looking into their motivations to take such extreme measures.

While no launch date has yet been announced, fans can expect the series to arrive in 2027 when it will be made available on both ITVX and ITV2.

ITV's synopsis teases: "Meeting the men redefining what it means to be a modern man of today, Sam and Pete: Dying to Look Good will explore trends including looksmaxxing, and the lengths many go to to achieve physical perfection, t-maxxing (testosterone boosting) and biohacking, an insight into the anti ageing obsessives who are determined to turn back the clock.

"From bonesmashing to bodybuilding, cryotherapy to cosmetics, Sam and Pete will immerse themselves in the surprising and at times shocking universe of male self improvement, giving audiences an access all areas insight into the men taking bold steps in their quest for perfection."

Sam & Pete: Dying to Look Good will air in 2027 on ITVX and ITV2. An exact release date is yet to be announced.
