Frank Lampard ‘makes audacious bid to bring his former Chelsea star to Coventry and gets immediate response

FRANK LAMPARD has made a bid to sign one of his former Chelsea players, according to reports.

Lampard is on the hunt for reinforcements for his Coventry City side for their first Premier League campaign in 25 years.

The Sky Blues have made six signings so far this summer, the most expensive being Ghana international Caleb Yirenkyi.

And according to Tuttosport, Lampard has an eye on one of his former players to be his seventh arrival.

They claim he’s attempted to try to prise Ruben Loftus-Cheek from AC Milan‘s clutches.

The Italian outlet says Milan received an 8.5million offer for the midfielder, who played 12 games under Lampard during his time at Stamford Bridge.

The 48-year-old said: “I’m delighted to have signed a new contract, it’s a real honour to represent this club.

“After the incredible work of everybody to get promoted and win the Championship, it was important to enjoy the moment, and we certainly did as a city.
