8 Out of 10 Cats star reveals brutal way she was treated on hit Channel 4 show, saying I was absolutely terrified

MAISIE Adams has revealed the brutal way she was treated on Channel 4 show 8 Out of 10 Cats – and the comedian who helped her. 

The 32-year-old made her first appearance on 8 Out of 10 Cats, which was hosted by Jimmy Carr, in 2022 and has claimed that at times she was unable to get a word in due to co-stars being keen to have their jokes heard.

Appearing on JaackMaates Happy Hour podcast, Maisie said: 8 Out of 10 Cats was my first ever panel show. 

I was absolutely terrified and so glad I was on with Sara Pascoe because I kept going to say something panel shows are brutal, people just talk over you. 

She kept going, what was that you were saying, Maisie? And its always meant the world to me, Ive never forgotten it.

Maisie continued: Largely its a discussion. But its comedians who’ve written their gags and they want to get their gags in. Its very elbows out.

“I remember a few times, Id start saying something and people would just talk over me with the loudest voice.

But Sara is amazing and shes been, for a long time – longer than me – the only woman on panel shows so she knows what its like.

The Sun has reached out to a representative for 8 Out of 10 Cats for comment. 

In 2021 the original run of 8 Out of 10 Cats ended, with its final episode running on E4.

Since then its spin-off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown has continued to air.

Maisie most recently appeared on the spin-off programme earlier this month.
