She is currently awaiting the boards decision, which is understood to be due back before the end of August.

Mulhall is caged in Limerick Prison but has been given unsupervised overnight temporary release over the past year.

An image that appears to show her shopping for sweets in a supermarket in the west of Ireland is currently circulating.

A member of the public is understood to have taken the picture, which shows a woman fitting Mulhalls description, looking at products in the confectionery aisle of the shop in recent days.

A source said: A picture of a woman, which looks very much like Mulhall, is doing the rounds and even some prison staff have seen it and believe it to be her.

At the moment Mulhall is allowed to stay where she wishes while out on overnight temporary release as long as prison authorities are notified.

Shes currently enjoying overnight temporary release from Limerick Prison as she awaits a decision by the parole board on whether she will be granted full release.

She is a model prisoner and stays out of trouble. She has been enjoying temporary release for the last year and has proved she can be trusted in this regard.

Its very likely she will get full release by the end of the summer. Her sister Linda is already free and its only a matter of time now before she is too.

The killer is one of just a few female inmates who have their own apartments on the female wing of Limerick Prison.

A source said: Mulhall is living in one of a few apartment style rooms at the prison.

They look very much like an apartment you would see outside of jail and allow her to adapt and get ready for full release.

She does her own cooking and cleaning and it has seen her strive. She will be able to adapt back into normal society more easily when she is released.

A spokesman for the Irish Prison Service said they do not comment on individual prisoners.

Charlottes sister Linda Mulhall, 50, is already free, having served 15 years for manslaughter.

However Charlotte, who stabbed Noor up to 20 times with a kitchen knife, was convicted of murder.

The brutal killing that shocked the nation happened in her mother Kathleens apartment at Richmond Cottages, Ballybough, in north Dublin, in March 2005.

While Charlotte stabbed Noor, Linda struck him with a hammer after the sisters claimed he had tried to rape one of them.

They chopped up his remains inside the bathroom of their mums flat.

The sisters then dumped Noors limbs and torso in the Royal Canal before taking his head on the bus to Tallaght in west Dublin.

His head has never been found but it is believed to have been hidden in a park before being moved.

We previously revealed how Charlotte had told of her regret for her sick crimes.

It is understood she now accepts she shouldnt have done what she did.

And she has told prison staff: I am sorry for what I did and I know it has destroyed my life.

A prison source said: Charlotte Mulhall has a lot of regrets and very few memories of what happened that night because she was so out of it on the booze and the drugs.

She feels she has served her time and is grateful to get a second chance in life.

She was incarcerated at a very young age and now has a real opportunity to put this shocking period of her life behind her and make a new start.

Sister Linda, freed in 2018, has kept out of trouble and put her past behind her since her release.

The mum of four and former heroin addict is believed to be living in another jurisdiction.

It is not yet known where Charlotte will live when she is let out this summer, or if she will return to her native Dublin.

She would have to get special permission to be allowed to leave the country, even for a holiday, because she will be on parole.

A prison insider previously told us: She will be released under the supervision of the Independent Parole Board on parole and they will be constantly checking up on her.

She is being given all these day releases, just like any other lifer coming to the end of their sentence, so that she can adjust to life on the outside.

She will probably hope to get a job and somewhere discreet to stay. She will be given help by the Probation Service to get back on her feet.

The source added: The sentence she received is for life and if she breaks any of the terms of her release, she will be immediately sent back to jail.

She would have to get special permission from the Parole Board to be allowed to travel abroad to see her sister. That is something they might look at down the road.

To be fair, there are very few cases where life prisoners break the rules and are returned to jail.
