Premier League champions Arsenal beat Man City definitively 3-0 in the Community Shield at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Sunday.

There was a party atmosphere as tens of thousands of fans poured into the city centre. The fixture is the traditional curtain-raiser for the top-flight season in England.

While the Community Shield is often seen as a relatively unimportant piece of silverware, that didn't stop the enthusiasm and rivalry among fans, earlier today there were tensions on the streets - more on that here.

World Cup breakout star, Norwegian player, Erling Haaland was in the Man City squad, while England favourites, Declan Rice and Phil Foden were also playing on Welsh soil.

The Community Shield is being held in Cardiff for the first time in two decades.

Wembley, which has hosted all bar two of the Community Shields since 2007, is unavailable due to a scheduling clash with singer, The Weeknd.

The Premier League titans were in town the day before Cardiff's meeting with Championship newbies, Wrexham AFC. The north Wales team are meeting the Bluebirds a home for their EFL Championship opener of the 2026/27 season.
