Prior to joining WIRED he was the senior science editor of Gizmodo. Before that, he was a reporter at io9. Gonzalez holds bachelors degrees in biochemistry and molecular biophysics, molecular and cellular biology, and English from the University of Arizona. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, he now resides in Berkeley, California.
