Our crew's preference is to have a beeping when an unacknowledged alarm arrives which stops when the alarm is acknowledged, rather than having the alarms read out.
I see this was already brought up in #2968 but the discussion seems to have centred on replacing the existing TTS service instead of being able to play arbitrary sound clips. Another possibility apart from playing sound clips is to play a repeating short beep generated from a sine wave which could be simpler to implement.
It seems this would not fit nicely into the current annunciator architecture though especially if the beeping were to continue until the alarm(s) were acknowledged.
Any thoughts?
