<p>The example illustrates the ability to override default x and y units (ax1) to
inches and centimeters using the <em>xunits</em> and <em>yunits</em> parameters for the
<aclass="reference internal" href="../../api/_as_gen/matplotlib.axes.Axes.plot.html#matplotlib.axes.Axes.plot" title="matplotlib.axes.Axes.plot"><codeclass="xref py py-obj docutils literal notranslate"><spanclass="pre">plot</span></code></a> function. Note that conversions are applied to get numbers
