At second thought I don't know why the html doc pages contain the links to the search plugin in the first place, as I can't find html_use_opensearch in conf.py.
That key is actually in conf.py, but set to "False" (string False, which according to those docs seems like perhaps not what we want... it is a non-empty string)
@ksunden ah sorry, I must have overlooked this. I guess the usual way is the supply an empty string ('') if you don't want to set this option (which is also the default value).
