git+ssh transport support #136

Description

Hi,

Does nodegit support cloning private github repos? I'm getting an error in my clone callback which reads This transport isn't implemented. Sorry. I've successfully been able to clone repos using the https transport mechanism.

I'm on OS X Mavericks.

Thanks.

Seeing the same on this end!

I'm having a different error: SSL is not supported by this copy of libgit2.
I download the openSSL, download and install libssh2 as require by libgit2 to enable ssl+ssh funcionality.
I download libgit2 and build it, so my libgit2 suppose to have support for ssl+ssh.
I realized that on installation of nodegit, it fetch the libgit2 (and probably build it?) so basically i want to know if nodegit uses the libgit2 that i have on my computer or the one it was been fetched by installation process.
Any tips will be highly appreciated =)
    tnks.

@alecventuravn this library is tied 1:1 to a specific version of libgit2 as the API changes frequently. so the version you've downloaded and installed will not work with nodegit. We're working on getting the latest version in, which will include support for ssh.

I estimated it would land this weekend, but I'm taking a break this weekend so maybe sometime next week.

@tbranyen, did this get in? I'm getting This transport isn't implemented on git@dev.vcatechnology.com:web/vca-viewer.git which is our private GitLab instance.

@mattyclarkson not in 0.1.4, but it is in master. I haven't figured out how to get the options passed to make it work yet though.

@tbranyen, is it something I could look at? If you just point me to the line(s) of code to look at I could attempt a PR.

I'm getting the same issue when cloning a Github private using nodegit 'master' at the tip. Does anyone know if the nodegit's custom libgit2 has https support in yet?

It does, but configuring it will take some work. I've had a few ideas, but none of them have worked so far. If you can figure out how to expose and configure a struct in userland JS that would solve this issue.

Same error here "Error: SSL is not supported by this copy of libgit2.: No such file or directory". Any clues? Cheers!

@dzuluaga are you using master or 0.1.4 from NPM? Experimental support is only available in master.

Yes. The same happened downloading it from NPM. However, git log simulation from npm worked fine. This is actually the one I needed. Thanks!

@tbranyen Any updates on when this support would land within NPM?
