Calibre Docker 9.6 to 9.7 Broken #140

I've been running the LinuxServer-Calibre docker container for years. 9.6.0 works, but 9.7.0 breaks. Here are the container logs: [calibre] 2026-06-26T16:53:52.984770526Z thread '<unnamed>' panicked at src/lib.rs:964:52:

I know it's not a permissions issue on the library, because I switch back to the 9.6 container and it works fine. I enabled the full RUST_BACKTRACE=full variable and there's no other useful info. Doesn't tell me where the permission issue is. Here's my docker-compose.yml calibre:

Could you provide full startup container logs please? also just so we know, what kind of host/cpu/OS. |

Sure. Let me know if you want me to enable that backtrace. It wasn't really useful to me. Looked like memory addresses. Here's the startup log with the latest version. Could you try re-pulling the image? that looks like a selkies error, not calibre. Clear the image out (ideally any shared layers too) / repull and see what happens. |

I have tried that. I've copied the docker-compose to 2 other machines (Debian 12 and Arch Linux) with the same mount points and they all fail . My Calibre library is on a CIFS mount. Is that an issue? volumes:
- /mnt/Files/KnowledgeStore:/dataload:rw
- /mnt/Files/Books:/config:rw
Here's the fstab: //10.0.150.20/Files /mnt/Files cifs rw,credentials=/home/tripley/.smbcredentials,gid=1000,uid=1000,nobrl,vers=3,_netdev,noserverino 0 0 |

/config definitely could be what's causing it. It's something we don't test/recommend with our containers. (Mainly because the majority of the have some sort of database that doesn't like it) |
