James Jordan: Celebrity Big Brother is too easy

Former Big Brother star James Jordan gives his thoughts on this years batch of stars, and reveals who he wants to win.

James Jordan is no stranger to the Big Brother house or to stirring things up while hes in it. The professional dancer, who found fame as a professional on Strictly Come Dancing, first entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2014 and returned for another round on the 2017 All Stars edition.

Speaking to online slots site Betway, the 47-year-old explains why producers should push boundaries even further, admitting that the show isn’t as good as it used to be.

He also didnt hold back with his thoughts on Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa, and says Ella Rae Wise has shown her hand far too early. 

Who do you want to win?

I like Daley Thompson. Hes a nice, normal guy and has gone in there and just been himself. 

Ella seems to have caught the attention of viewers – what do you make of her in the house?

I like Ella but shes not doing herself any favours. Shes clearly done her research before going in and I think she was hoping to get the attention of Chris. But Chris is no fool and I think hes latched on to JoJo because she has a huge following. Whereas Ella is a TOWIE star and doesnt have the right level of fame. Ella is making it a little too obvious shes annoyed at Chris and JoJos flirtation and shes shown her hand a little bit. 

You were witness to one of CBBs biggest arguments involving Kim Woodburn. What was it like watching it unfold?

I wasnt there for every fight. But it was wild to witness what I did. She went after Coleen Nolan, which I thought was so unfair because shes such a lovely woman. She really went personal with people so I tried to give her a taste of her own medicine, and she hated it. She got offended when I called her a cleaner, but thats what shes known for. She could dish it out but couldnt take it.

Is it easy to move on from arguments in the house? 

For me it was easy. You cant escape people but in a way, that forces you to deal with the tension and work through it. Ive always been an upfront person and once I get something off my chest, we can move forward.

Is Big Brother hard?

No, and any celebrity who says its the hardest thing theyve ever done needs a reality check. You get paid good money for three weeks to sit around with a load of people. You might not get on with everyone but youre getting paid. Its not that tough. There are people working 12 to 16 hours a day desperate to put food on the table for their family and youre complaining about getting paid thousands to sit around? Get a grip?

Is there anything Big Brother should change going forward?

Its too easy for the housemates. Theyre not making anything hard for them. They didnt pass a shopping task but theyre still getting loads of food. I want to see it tough on these celebrities. When I went in there, I wanted to be pushed and I wanted to see how people react when theyre really hungry. Theyre not hungry! Theyre not struggling. But ITV will think if they enforce stricter rules, theyre being too cruel. Thats why the show isnt as good as it once was.
