[fidget-boxes.BpGMQFeD_2fffhK.webp]My primary goal is to make biochemistry meaningful and accessible for non-science majors. Student comments that the course felt more about learning and less about memorization tells me that the Engelhard approach helped students engage with biochemistry as a way of understanding themselves and the world, rather than as a set of facts to retain for an exam.
I was excited to teach my first-year colloquium as an Engelhard course. By integrating the Engelhard framework, I aimed to foster a deeper awareness of the connections between academic success and personal well-being, helping students develop habits and mindsets that support their overall health during their transition to college life.
