Tribute to Jean Wathall, 1931 - 2026

I wanted to share a few photos of Jean,as she trained as a nurse with my Mum, Betty Davis nee Ladbrook.. they started in January 1949 at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham, and became life long friends. I loved listening to them both recalling memories of their nurse training, their numerous holidays together,in this country, Lake District, Somerset and abroad. As my Mum's family lived nearer the hospital, Jean became a family friend tooand what I was always amazed at when chatting on the phone over the last few years was her remarkable memory for detailsand always asking about the extended family, she was so selfless. We feel very lucky to have had the honour to know Jean, she was an amazing lady, and always a pleasure to visit,or chat with on the phone. The photos are mainly from their holidays in Austria I believe,in the late 1950s, early 1960s. She will be so missed. Sending love from my sister Paula and family, and Colin and I to all the family xx
