Steps to take to get your Surface repaired
1. Troubleshoot your device before requesting service

Microsoft has a range of parts available for purchase, which can be used for self-repair, benefiting you when devices are out of warranty.Learn more about how to repair your Surface yourself.
2. Check your Microsoft warranty
If the problem continues, start the warranty repair process for your Surface to have it serviced. Go toaccount.microsoft.com/devicesand select a device to see its warranty status.
Note
If your device isn't listed, selectRegister deviceto add it to your account. You'll see the coverage dates after you do this.
If your device warranty does not match your proof of purchase, seeUpdate your warranty. If your device warranty has expired, or if you need to use Microsoft Complete Accidental Damage Protection learn how to get service for your out of warranty or damaged Surface.
3. Choose your service option
Get in-person support In some countries or regions,Microsoft has partnered with Authorized Service Providers offeringin-person support and repair.
Send to Microsoft To send your device in for repair, you'll need to create a service order and print a shipping label.
4. How to create a service order for your Surface
Go toaccount.microsoft.com/devices and choose the device that needs service, selectNext,and then follow the instructions to complete your service request and return your device to Microsoft.
Important
If you're able to turn on your Surface, we highly recommend that you backup then erase your data before returning your device. Learn how to prepare your Surface for service.
