Welcome to The Kirkstyle Inn and Sportsman's Rest

Nestled in the breathtaking Northumberland moorlands, bordering Cumbria, our beautiful pub offers luxury rooms, exceptional seasonal food, and a heartfelt celebration of local produce. With sustainability at our core and strong ties to our rural community, we pair thoughtful cooking with a well-stocked bar and an extensive wine list to suit all palates and purses. A warm welcome awaits locals, visitors from far and wide – and four-legged friends alike!

Our Menus

At The Kirkstyle we are passionate about sustainability and playing our part in protecting the planet. The abundance of glorious local produce, and our desire to showcase Northumberland on the plate, helps to naturally reduce our carbon footprint. We embrace pickling and fermentation methods, using as much of the produce as possible, to create a larder of ingredients. All dishes and sauces are made in our kitchen, as are many of our non-alcoholic cocktails. Our crusty homemade sourdough bread is nurtured and baked inhouse.

Our kitchen is open for dinner on Wednesdays and for lunch and dinner Thursday to Sunday. To book your table, please click the ‘Book a Table’ button in the top right-hand corner of this page. PLEASE NOTE: Our kitchen is closed Monday and Tuesday. Please see our opening times here.

We had a great stay at the Kirkstyle Inn. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The food was excellent, with a comprehensive wine list. Most of all, the staff were really thoughtful and made us feel welcome with our dog. Vanessa could not have been more helpful guiding my lactose intolerant wife through the menu. I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay for a relaxing break.

never stayed here just popped in for drinks and food, glad we did. came back for our anniversary 25/7/26 . had the Scallop starter, Dairy cow main and dark chocolate dessert with wine and beers. Every course was perfect with flavours and quality. without doubt the best dessert of my life, wish I was a millionaire I would live here. Service and staff 10 out of 10, roll on next year for our next anniversary.

Wow, great experience all round... We took a slight detour to visit before heading up to an event near Dundee the following day, it was a great decision. We had dinner, bed and breakfast. The food was all amazing with good attentive staff and service. Our room (Knarburn) had a cute little chair near the window which was difficult to leave due to the comfort and amazing views. Highly recommend a visit for food or an overnight stay, you won\'t be disappointed!

We had a lovely experience at Kirkstyle Inn. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the overall service made us feel genuinely looked after. A special mention to Narel, who is new and looked after us during our visit. He was attentive, friendly and professional throughout, making sure everything was running smoothly while keeping a very natural and relaxed approach. Its always nice to see someone starting out with such a positive attitude and great customer care. He made our experience even more enjoyable and is definitely an asset to the team. Very comfortable bed, shower nice and powerful.lovely touches like homemade biscuits in the room. Breakfast was good so was my evening meal to celebrate my mums 90th. I would not hesitate to return. Fully recommend. Even found a sketch of my dad while eating my breakfast in the small dining room.
