The PIF TICK scheme is the UK-wide quality mark for trustworthy health information and we're proud to be a part of it.
We're excited to announce we've been awarded the Patient Information Forum’s PIF TICK accreditation.
With so much information out there, it can be hard to know where to go and what advice to follow. When you see the PIF TICK logo on our website or leaflets, it means our health information is reliable, accurate and trustworthy.
We produce high quality health information to support people affected by heart and circulatory diseases. The PIF TICK recognises this quality. We want you to feel confident you can trust our health information.
The PIF TICK logo makes it quick and easy to spot trusted information. Accurate, accessible, evidence-based information from organisations like the BHF will help people like you to:
PIF TICK is awarded after a thorough application and assessment process by the Patient Information Forum. To be recognised as trusted information creators, we had to show our production process meets PIF’s essential criteria for trustworthy information.
We create the best possible health information by following these eight steps:
Step one – find a clear user need
Step two – use up-to- date, reliable evidence
Step three – meet literacy, language and accessibility needs in our writing
Step four – involve users in the development of the information
Step five – make the information easy for people to find and to use
Step six – make it easy for users to give feedback
Step seven – promote the information so it can reach those who need it
Step eight – measure the impact
All the information we create following these eight steps will get the PIF TICK mark. Keep an eye on our website to see the TICK popping up on more of our information in the future.
