Horoscope of Pope candidates: Mystic reveals 'fate' of top eight candidates for pontiff

Vatican City is currently planning for Pope Francis' funeral as the cardinals vote on who becomes the next pontiff of the Holy See and Catholic Church. This astrologer shared her knowledge

Pope Francis' death has plunged the Catholic world into mourning after the pontiff passed away on Easter Monday. But, already, people are starting to wonder who will take up the coveted position in Vatican City next.

While the cardinals vote with their ever-secretive conclave process and the world waits until the white smoke from the Vatican chimney indicates the 'chosen one', we might just be able to tell you who will be the new leader of the Catholic Church.

No, we haven't got an insider hidden in the Sistine Chapel nor an inkling from the Big Man himself.

We've had a word with resident celebrity psychic and astrologer Inbaal Honigman who has a track record of predicting events by reading the horoscope.

Although there's 138 cardinals eligible for the role of Pope, there seems to be eight 'front runners' - and Inbaal thinks, by having a look at their Zodiac signs, that some might be more likely to take the holy position than others.

On behalf of in Oddspedia, Inbaal Honigman, celebrity psychic and astrologer, told us: "Interestingly, the Air signs are over represented within the candidates. Out of eight potential Popes inspected, 50% are air signs, with two Geminis and two Librans who happen to share a birthday.

"The air signs are intellectual and humanitarian signs, they love the written word and they love justice, so it is no surprise to see those signs on the list."

Could this mean a more liberal Pope is on the cards? Or will a more conservative hard-line cardinal take the position? Inbaal shares her insight below:

As a leader, Gemini can come across as uneven. This dual sign can see both sides of any argument, and struggle to make clear decisions.

Until 9 June 2025, Geminis luck is in, since Jupiter, planet of growth is in their sign. If a new Pope is elected before this date, Gemini has good odds to be next pope.

The sign of Capricorn is focused and determined. It is an ambitious sign that loves to come first in any contest or election.

Saturn planet of discipline is the ruling planet for Capricorn. This planet is in emotional Pisces until 24 May, which is not very auspicious for new career moves.

After 25 May, this planet moves to sprightly Aries, which is great for new beginnings, so if the new Pontiff is chosen after that date, this is very lucky for Capricorn.

The sign of Cancer is kind hearted and family-minded. They listen to their inner voice when it comes to matters of right vs. wrong.

They make caring and attentive leaders, although they hate conflict, which could make them capitulate faster than other signs.

Cancerians luck arrives after 10 June 2025, when Mercury, planet of communication and Jupiter, planet of luck enter their sign. If a new Pope is elected before that date, then Cancer may have missed the boat.

Saturn, planet of discipline is in the sign of Pisces until 24 May 2025. This means that Pisceans would run a strong campaign for leadership until that date, which increases their odds to be next pope.
