'I dressed in inappropriate outfit on Hinge date to see how he'd react'

A woman has filmed herself turning up to a first date in what many would consider a questionable outfit choice, all to gauge her date's reaction.

First dates can be scary, particularly when meeting someone for the very first time. That's why it's often wise to have conversation starters prepared to dodge any uncomfortable silences. This might involve brainstorming topics or questions beforehand, or choosing a venue that naturally provides talking points. But one woman took a completely different approach to breaking the ice - she rocked up to her first date in an outrageous outfit just to see how he'd react.

Teri Kearns regularly shares clips on social media where she attempts to inject fun into dating by shocking her dates with outlandish costumes or peculiar antics. In one Instagram post, she documented the moment she arrived at a bloke's house for their first encounter dressed as an animal.

"I'm about to go on a first date, and this guy on Hinge told me to wear my dolphin outfit," Teri explained, displaying a screenshot of her date's message as proof. "So I don't think he's actually expecting me to do it, but let's go see what he says."

The following footage captures Teri rapping on the man's door before it swings open moments later, revealing her beaming face beneath the costume as she waited to see his response to her bizarre attire.

"Holy f**k yeah," the man can be heard exclaiming off camera, followed by a fit of laughter.

"What?" Teri responded, acting out her ignorance about the cause of his amusement, prompting him to reply: "You're out of control."

This led Teri to question whether her date disapproved of her outfit, before she cheerfully greeted him with: "Nice to meet you."

She then resumed her dolphin impersonation, suggesting they should head to the ocean together.

"Do I look pretty?" she subsequently asked, to which he promptly responded: "You look extremely pretty."

The video concluded at this point, and Teri captioned the post with: "I think he liked me."

The viral clip swiftly amassed over 2.5 million views, with spectators commending Teri for her comedic performance and speculating whether this could be the beginning of a new romance with the unidentified Hinge date.

"He wasn't laughing, he was trying to communicate with you," one viewer commented, while another exclaimed: "This is brilliant, love it."

A third inquired: "Was there a second date? Because I'd propose right then and there."

While a fourth chimed in: "This is the type of unhinged I aspire to be."

Another curious spectator asked: "Omg what happened where's the update?!" to which Teri replied, "Never heard from him again" accompanied by a crying-laughing emoji.
