The Daily Star: News with a Wink

Mating expert reveals just how many inches women want - and the size is less than you think

EXCLUSIVE: Expert Macken Murphy has lifted the lid on what women really want in the trouser department and says his findings are backed by science

Does size matter? is a question which has triggered crippling insecurity in many men since the dawn of mankind. Men throughout the ages have pondered if the measurement of their manhood really is enough to find love while many dread they might have pulled the short straw and fear coming up short in the dating world.

In the search for the answer to one of the biggest questions in the dating scene, the Daily Star turned to an expert in the field of bedroom activities to expose what women thought the perfect-sized-pecker size was.

Macken Murphy, a scientist studying human mating behaviour and with a massive 200K following on his TikTok channel, spoke to the Daily Star revealing what the science says on womens preferred pecker size was.

Murphy pointed to a study in which women handled 3D cylindrical physical models shaped like penises and were asked "Approximately how big would you like a man to be?

Murphy said: "When communicating the results of that study I found that people tend to be surprised by how small the numbers are.

If you have a conversation with a woman socially it's very likely that they'll say, something like seven. But that's very large. In this study, instead, they found 6.3 inches was preferred for long-term partners.

When I say that most men are jumping for joy and saying that sounds great. But here's the thing, men are very generous when estimating themselves. One study found that men overstate their size by about 21%.

I would be willing to wager that if you put out a Daily Star survey and have one question for men, how long is your penis? And question two for women, how long do you want your man's penis to be?

Both of those numbers are going to be one or two inches higher than the actual number would be in practice. And I think that's because, frankly, men measure themselves generously and also, frankly, people lie, Murphy added.

While the studys results sounded promising Murphy highlighted the womens preferred preference was still above average. However, it was not as ridiculously high above the average as one would have thought.

"I think 6.3inches that's going to be relatively high. In this study, for example, that was higher than the average woman had seen before. So, the average woman's preference was larger than what the average woman had seen in the wild, Murphy said.

And there's more good news. Murphy likens the perceived size of your manhood to how tall women want men to be and says most men shouldnt be worried about the measurements.

He added: It's not something necessarily to stress about because most of us also aren't as tall as women's height preferences. And I think men can relate to this in terms of ideal preferences.

If you ask men their ideal bra size preference and their ideal BMI preference, it's going to be an unrealistic combination of numbers.

In practice, love can look past these things and be a lot more flexible than these ideal preferences are almost always unreasonable. It's much more interesting to ask about bare minimum preferences, he concluded.
