The trailer for Tom Holland's new Spider-Man movie has smashed records to become the most watched ever.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially the biggest trailer of all time with 718.6 million views in 24 hours, breaking the previous record set by Deadpool And Wolverine which enjoyed 365 million views.
After just eight hours on Wednesday, the Brand New Day trailer had already amassed 373 million views.
Its the first time Holland has donned the Spidey suit since 2021s No Way Home which brought past web-slingers Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield together to make $1.9 billion at the global box office.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day isnt just the biggest movie trailer of all time, its the biggest trailer of anything overtaking last years trailer for video game Grand Theft Auto VI which scored 475 million views in 24 hours.
Brand New Day takes place four years after the events of No Way Home, and Peter Parker is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. The movie tagline reveals details about the plot.
It reads: Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, hes devoted himself entirely to protecting his city a full-time Spider-Man.
"But as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
The Brand New Day cast includes Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. The fourth movie in current series was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
There are rumours that fellow Marvel hero Daredevil will feature in the new film, with star of the Disney+ series Charlie Cox refusing to rule out making an appearance alongside The Punisher.
Brand New Day arrives in cinemas on July 31. Tom Holland is thought to have signed up for a further two Spider-man movies after this one.
